Discovery call
A call in your morning covers languages, accessibility needs and who signs off.
Ottawa
We design and build websites for Ottawa businesses, associations and non-profits, remotely, from Casablanca. We work in your Eastern-time mornings, build English and French versions from day one, and write the accessibility target into the scope before any code.
Ottawa, from Casablanca
Web design Ottawa buyers can book from Casablanca starts with two checks: which languages the site needs and which accessibility rules apply. Ottawa shares Eastern time with Toronto, so we are five hours ahead in summer and six in winter, with three to four shared hours each morning.
Eastern time is UTC-4 from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November, and UTC-5 the rest of the year. Casablanca stays on UTC+1, or UTC+0 during Ramadan. Your 09:00 to 13:00 is our 14:00 to 18:00 in summer. Your 09:00 to 12:00 is our 15:00 to 18:00 in winter.
Ottawa works around the federal government and the associations, non-profits, consultancies and technology firms that surround it. Across the river, Gatineau is in Quebec, so many organisations serve customers on both sides. Some contracts need Canadian security clearance or staff based in Canada. A remote studio in Morocco is not the right fit for those, and we say so on the first call.
This page sits inside our website design services for Canadian businesses, part of the Canada hub.
Languages and accessibility
Two languages. The Official Languages Act requires federal institutions to serve the public in English and French, so organisations that work with them often publish in both. A business that serves customers in Gatineau must also consider Quebec’s French-language rules. We build the bilingual structure. A native writer should produce each language.
Accessibility and privacy. Ottawa is in Ontario, so AODA applies. It requires WCAG 2.0 level AA on the public websites of the public sector and of organisations with 50 or more employees. The Accessible Canada Act covers federal bodies and federally regulated businesses such as banks and telecoms. PIPEDA covers private-sector personal data, and federal institutions fall under the Privacy Act. Confirm the details with your lawyer.
What we build
We build both languages from day one, each page in both. A language switch sits on every page, and language tags tell screen readers and search engines which version they are reading. French text is usually longer than English, so layouts are tested with real copy in both.
How a project runs
Associations and public-sector suppliers need a paper trail. The quote lists deliverables and assumptions, each milestone ends in a sign-off, and payments follow delivered milestones. At the end you receive the code, the documentation and a walkthrough.
Services
One team for the design, the build and the systems behind the site.
Other Canadian cities: web design Toronto (Eastern time) and web design Montreal (French first).
Across the time difference
Eastern-time mornings carry the decisions. The paper trail carries the rest.

FAQ
What organisations in Ottawa ask before they book a call.
We can build public websites and tools for organisations around government. Contracts that need Canadian security clearance or staff based in Canada are not a fit, and we say so on the first call.
Federal institutions must serve the public in both languages. For a private business it depends on your customers. If you serve Gatineau or Quebec, plan French. We build the structure, and native writers write the copy.
AODA sets WCAG 2.0 level AA for the Ontario public sector and organisations with 50 or more employees. Federal bodies fall under the Accessible Canada Act. We write the target into the scope. WCAG 2.1 AA is the usual choice.
Ottawa is 5 hours behind Casablanca in summer and 6 in winter, so we share 4 hours of your morning in summer and 3 in winter. Calls fit your morning, and everything else is in writing.
Yes. Ontario’s HST is 13 %. Quebec adds 5 % GST and 9.975 % QST. We set up tax zones for each and test checkout totals with examples from your accountant.
Yes. You own the code. Handover includes the repository, the documentation and a walkthrough, so your IT team or another developer can continue.
